![]() It has also been difficult knowing that we won't get all of the traditional ceremonies and honors that every class before us has gotten. I had a college tour on the last day of school. None of us knew back in March that it would be our last time together at school, we would have made it much more special if we had known. It was hard to believe that I would never walk through those halls again. When it was announced on May 1 that the remainder of the school year would be completed at home, I was devastated. The biggest impact of the pandemic on my senior year: This pandemic has halted my senior year in a way. My senior year, I was able to achieve third chair in Area All-State Band, and second chair in All-County Band and All-County Orchestra. I am the principal clarinet of my school's Symphonic Winds Ensemble, and have always challenged myself to participate in honor ensembles and solo festivals whenever given the opportunity to do so. I am also extremely involved in my school's music program. I participate in too many extracurricular activities to list, but I am the Treasurer and Secretary of my school's Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter, a class officer, and an active member of National Honor Society. Turning to the people that I love to be around helps me the most because I know that I will always end up smiling or laughing with them. Especially with working a part-time job while trying to do well academically my entire senior year. Because I try my best to take advantage of opportunities that my school provides for students, sometimes it feels like I am always doing something. Being around people who love and support you can really bring a sense of relief when things get tough.
